AQUAPORIN RECEIVES FUNDING FROM ECO-INNOVATION15.01.2011
Aquaporin A/S has received 25% financing from the subsidy scheme for eco-efficient technologies (Eco-innovation) of the Danish Ministry of Environment for a project of 2 man-years' duration to develop a biomimetic hollow fiber contactor module for desalination of seawater by forward osmosis (FO). Through the Eco-innovation funding scheme, and with the objective of bridging the gap between research and the market, the EU wants to support innovative products, services and technologies that can make a better use of our natural resources and reduce Europe's ecological footprint. More details on the Eco-innovation sub-programme under the new CIP Programme (Competitiveness and Innovation Programme) can be found on the EU Commission's website here or on the Danish Ministry of Environment website here. The project will start February 2011 and will be headed by project manager Mark Perry, mpe@aquaporin.dk.
